The Western Digital Foundation recently awarded Kidpower with a $5,000 grant to help implement our Employment Barrier Removal and Victimization Risk Reduction Program for People with Physical and Developmental Disabilities. This program equips people with disabilities who experience bullying, harassment, exclusion, shunning, and other forms of emotional and physical violence with empowerment tools and self-advocacy and personal safety skills to prevent or break the cycle of victimization and exploitation and reduce behavioral risks; dismantle a major barrier to employment and economic self-sufficiency; overcome other barriers to realizing their highest social, physical, intellectual and emotional potential;
and maximize their full inclusion and participation in society.
